Pantone 19-1617 Burgundy sits between red, brown and purple, giving it a complexity that brighter reds cannot offer. Its energy is controlled, rich and slightly severe rather than overtly seductive. There is warmth in the pigment, but enough shadow to make it feel grounded and authoritative. This balance gives Burgundy unusual flexibility: it can carry the emotional charge of red while operating with much of the ease of a dark neutral.
