For years, directional footwear has been dominated by the point. Sharp toes, elongated toes, knife-like toes, square toes sharpened into architectural planes. Even when proportions changed, the underlying idea remained remarkably consistent: the shoe was expected to create a precise line. It extended the body, refined it and finished the silhouette with something controlled.

Now the front of the shoe is beginning to behave differently.
