The return of asymmetry is closely tied to the changing role of minimalism.
After several seasons in which reduction, restraint and highly controlled wardrobe dressing dominated fashion, the visual codes of minimalism have become considerably more familiar. Simone Bellotti addressed this directly at Jil Sander for Spring 2027, arguing that the house’s established idea of perfection was no longer enough because minimalism itself had become mainstream. His response was not to abandon precision, but to introduce greater irregularity and tension into it.
