Fashion creativity is an operating system, not a department
The strongest fashion creativity shapes how research, product, image and commercial decisions connect rather than operating as a separate creative function

Creativity is still frequently positioned as a function inside fashion businesses: a studio, a team, a seasonal phase responsible for producing the idea before the rest of the organisation turns it into something commercially viable. It is an efficient structure on paper, but it can create a significant weakness in practice. Once the creative proposition leaves the studio, successive decisions around product architecture, merchandising, communication and retail can gradually alter it until the final customer experience bears only a partial relationship to the thinking that started the process.
