Lace has rarely been absent from fashion. What changes is the role it is asked to play. For Autumn Winter 2027/28, that role is becoming noticeably stricter. The fabric is moving away from the familiar territory of romance, lingerie and decorative femininity and into something more controlled: oversized collars against black dresses, lace panels cutting across tailoring, sheer layers disrupted by opaque foundations and ornate surfaces held inside increasingly disciplined silhouettes.
