Visible craft in fashion is moving beyond workmanship and into product language, as brands make touch, process and authorship increasingly visible

For much of the past decade, fashion has been moving towards increasingly seamless surfaces. Digital design systems, precision manufacturing, e-commerce photography, social-media templates and highly controlled brand worlds have collectively produced an aesthetic culture in which almost everything can be perfected before it reaches the consumer. The extraordinary has gradually become ordinary; clean imagery, immaculate finishes and technically resolved products no longer automatically communicate the level of sophistication they once did because we are surrounded by them.
